Frank Massa built Massa Cottage in 1930 for his bride, Adra. Frank was the son of an Italian immigrant family who came to the Napa Valley in the 1890’s and started the Massa Brother’s Produce Company on the land where Copia, the Center for Food and Wine, stands today. Frank and Adra Massa continued the family custom and farmed property just below the town of Yountville until 2001. The Mediterranean Cottage on First Street, listed in the historic register, has been fully restored to its original elegance. The entire house is appointed with many of the furnishings and fixtures purchased by Frank and Adra almost 80 years ago. The charming, refurbished kitchen, with its sunny breakfast room, is the perfect place to take pleasure in your morning coffee or afternoon tea. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished, one with Mediterranean style furniture and Adra’s dressing table, the other with Art Deco Waterfall furniture. A wonderful night’s sleep awaits you in these dreamy beds, complete with fine linens. Soak away your troubles in the deep, cast iron tub, where you're transported to a world of relaxation. We look forward to welcoming you to Massa House for a luxury Napa vacation. |
